Car Buddy Chat was born out of the need for a smarter, more efficient way to engage customers in the automotive sales process. By leveraging cutting-edge artificial intelligence, the tool assists dealerships and automotive retailers in streamlining customer interactions, improving sales performance, and enhancing user experience.
The solution
As the lead developer and designer on the Car Buddy Chat project, I was instrumental in crafting a tool that bridges the gap between dealerships and their customers. Leveraging cutting-edge AI technology, I developed a conversational assistant capable of handling queries such as arranging test drives, estimating trade-in values, and processing deposits. By employing techniques like thought chaining and vector mapping, the AI delivered highly accurate and context-aware responses, creating a seamless customer experience.
To ensure the application integrated seamlessly with dealership operations, I collaborated closely with backend engineers to connect the tool to multiple CRM APIs. This enabled real-time data synchronization, allowing dealerships to manage leads, track interactions, and automate follow-ups without disrupting their existing workflows.
The frontend experience was built using ReactJS and Next.js, ensuring a dynamic, responsive interface optimised for both desktop and mobile users. I also utilised Storybook to create reusable UI components, enhancing scalability and maintaining a consistent design. Comprehensive testing with Jest guaranteed the platform's reliability and smooth performance before launch.
Security and data privacy were critical to the project's success. I worked closely with stakeholders to implement robust measures that complied with data protection regulations, safeguarding sensitive customer information.
